Burnely...the Toast of the EPL. But will it last?

We have seen it time and time again. Newly promoted teams, get off to a great start to the season, but fade badly to the end. Some even getting relegated that same season. With that said, it must be exciting for the players, fans and front office alike go come into the your first season of the EPL with no real expectations and shock two of the biggest teams within one week. Hats off to Burnley, who played bravely and who admittedly had some good fortune in upsetting both Manchester United and Everton, by the slimmest of margins. Only time will tell if this was a flash in the pan, but it is definitely refreshing to see the underdog actually show some heart this early in the season.
Meanwhile, as expected Chelsea maintained their perfect start to the season, with Drogba looking imperious. His control, strength, passing and decision making has been world class. If he continues like this teams need to watch out this season. Arsenal however has been the toast of the English Premiership. With commanding wins thus far, Arsene Wenger's boys have really come out to prove that even with one of the youngest rosters, they are still a threat to take the title.

That is all for now, but as always football is not just a sport, it's a way of life!

EPL off to a good start!

The worlds most enchanting league (IMHO), the English Premier League got into full swing this last weekend. The most outstanding performance came from Arsenal, who totally schooled Everton on the art of attacking and free flowing football. Chelsea and Manchester United put in solid performances to kick start their seasons. The only stumble in the "big four" came from Liverpool who lost out to a fighting Tottenham.
All in all, if we had to pick a week one winner, Arsenal certainly stands out. The season promises to be very exciting and I hope it lives up to the hype. Until next time, football is more than just a sport, it is a way of life!

Football Is here again.

After a summer of blockbuster trades and rumours of trades, the season is finally here. Some leagues in Europe have alreday begun, but the "big" boys will begin in the next few weeks. Today, the Community Shield between, EPL champs Manchester United and FA Cup champs, Chelsea is to be played. It is supposed to give one bragging rights over the other, however it is really a glorified friendly that kicks off the season.
I expect the main players to get a start with some of the new blood getting a run. As always, I expect this season in Europe to be played at a high level. EPL especially, with Man City making big buys, the 4 horse race at the top should be opened up this year, atleast that is the least we expect after the millions that have been spent.
Anyway, thats all for today and I look forward to another exciting football season. As always, football is not just a sport, Its A Way Of Life!

Cheers,
